Scarlett Johansson, American actress (born on November 22nd, 1985, in New York City New York) is well-known for her acting abilities across various genres from historical dramas, thrillers and action films. Johansson is the daughter of a film producer as well as an architect. The family is from New York City. Hunter is the sister of Johansson was born in New York City. When she was just seven years old, she started casting for commercials on television. The passion for acting developed quickly and she enrolled immediately to the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. Her debut came as a film actress in North (1994) when she was nine. When she was eight years old, she appeared with Ethan Hawke on Off-Broadway in Sophistry. Johansson was later seen as a character in Just Cause (1995), but her first break came in the form of Manny & Lo a coming of age movie about two sisters running away. She next earned critical acclaim for her role in the film as a teen who suffered a disfiguring accident in The Horse Whisperer (1998) and she gained further attention as cynical teen outcast Rebecca In Ghost World (2001).
